Last Saturday was Earth Hour. I was in Bulacan with my family and we celebrated the event by having candle lit dinner. We turned off everything, lights, the TV, computers...everything. After dinner we told stories and my dad even took some pictures and video clips. I don't know what he captured or if he even captured anything? But it was lots of fun. Sadly the neighborhood we lived in had no idea it was Earth Hour, or if they did - didn't care too much about it.
One hour of turning off the the lights isn't really much. But every little bit helps. It also helps remind people to be a little bit more careful when using energy. Conserving energy is a big deal because energy is not infinite. It will run out eventually. The question is, will we be so selfish as to consume a lot of it now and leave for our kids and grandchildren very little? I hope not.
My friend Marlin from Kansas is heading a council that advocates the use of wind energy as a renewable energy source. And he asked me to do a logo for their group, which i am deeply honored by. I am working on it right now, and hope to finish it soon. By doing this logo, i feel i'm giving a little bit back to the environment.
I don't think everyone needs to be a tree-hugger, but the little things that we do for the environment really helps.
