Manifesto

In various moments in my career when i considered a different path.
I have always reverted back to the same conclusion.
And that is…I am an ad-person.
i love what i do and i can't see myself do anything else.
I love how a good ad can change people's lives.
I love that there is always an opportunity for good storytelling.
Above all, i love that an idea from nothing can be something, even epic.
With that conclusion, all i desire now.
Is to just do good work.

A little about me...

My name is Beaux, beau |bō|, It’s French. But I’m not. I’m an Art Director, for McCann Erickson Manila. I enjoy my work and what I do. It’s never a boring day. I feel privileged making ads for such big brands as Nestle, Unilab, one of the biggest, if not the biggest pharmaceuticals company in the Philippines. And Globe, one of the leading communications network here.

I enjoy drawing. I must constantly have paper and my trusty pencil nearby. Nothing beats lead on paper. I enjoy it so much that I dabble in animation, comics and children’s book illustrations.

But I’m not only good with pencils, I also do mean graphics, layouts and compositions. I am very proficient in using Adobe, Photoshop, Illustrator, In-Design, and a bit of Flash as well.

I can’t live without my iPod because I love good music. Truly good music transcends time and genre. It makes working long hours bearable. It is also a wonderful source of inspiration and ideas.

Aside from music, what continuously inspire me are comics and great artworks. It blows my mind how they can tell good stories with pages divided into boxes and a little dialogue. It certainly takes immense skill and talent to do these things and I have such high respects for the people that make them. I constantly strive to be as creative as them. After all, a great visual is key in my line of work and a good visual makes or breaks an ad.

And to keep my creativity always sharp I bask in film. Nothing beats a movie that knows how to tell a good story. It could be the most simple of themes but when told just right it becomes magnificent. You could cram all the high profile celebrities, explosions, special effects, stunts, CGs, fast cars and naked girls in a movie but if the story isn’t told well it just sucks. A good movie for me is really how well they tell the story. Story telling, a skill I always strive to implement in my work.
So that's a little bit about me...
