Yes! I did it. I ran the 5K fun run at the Unilab Run United for Wellness event yesterday at the Fort. It was a very well organized and fun event. It was my first time running at an organized event like that and it was a great experience. The feeling while running was wonderful, it really frees the mind and you're just focused on breathing and keeping the pace. A foot forward one at a time. I didn't have my iPod, and it was pretty noisy, but my mind just went blank and everything was pristine. It was a really enjoyable run. Though at the first kilometer it quickly dawned on me that the distance i ran every morning, which i thought was a close estimate of a 5K route was wrong. It was barely 2K. But my practice did not fail me. From start to finish i ran, i did not stop, i did not slow down, i did not walk. I kept a good pace and then sprinted near the end. I am very proud of that. I think i finished the course in 40 minutes, a personal best. After finishing the course there were a lot of cool freebies and a fun wellness village. It was a cool and well organized event.
A big thank you shout out to Arjun, JC, Gail, Jon, Paolo and Zena for guiding and helping me prepare for the fun run.
A bit of education, JC clarified that a real marathon is 42K, anything less isn't a marathon but a fun run. So when i initially said i'd run a marathon this year, though i might like to do it (and let's keep it as an intent) it will not be happening. I don't think i am that fit. And i really don't intend to, i would like to progress to 10 or even a 21K but that is it.
Running is fun! So if you're not into it yet - start! Seriously!
A little update...
I finally have the time and a picture of me running in the fun run. I actually ran faster than i predicted. I finished the course in 35minutes only...Wow! Truly a personal best. I'm really proud of it.

We are now planning to join Mizuno's Infinity Run on april...See you all there!
